Social commentator Solomon Buchi has strongly criticized media personality Daddy Freeze over his comments about the service of songs organized in honor of actor Alex Ekubo, accusing him of shifting attention away from the purpose of the gathering.
The criticism comes after Daddy Freeze publicly shared his views on the tribute event, where he questioned certain aspects of the program, including the dress code and the style of worship that took place during the ceremony. His remarks sparked debate among those who believed the event should have remained focused on celebrating and remembering the late actor.
Reacting to Freeze’s comments, Solomon Buchi did not hold back. In a strongly worded statement, he accused the broadcaster of attending the event with a critical mindset rather than paying his respects to the deceased.
“You are such a disgrace. You didn't go there to honor Alex Ekubo, but to write a list of errors. At your 50 you are still acting disgraceful,” Buchi said.
He went on to argue that the event was meant to be a moment of remembrance and reflection, not an opportunity for public criticism.
“So you went to Alex's service of songs not to mourn him as a friend but you went for criticism. All about yourself, everything is about yourself selfish self,” he added.
Buchi also questioned why Daddy Freeze chose to publicly highlight what he considered shortcomings at the event instead of focusing on the life and legacy of the late actor. According to him, the attention given to issues such as the dress code and the format of the service distracted from the real purpose of the gathering.
Continuing his criticism, Buchi suggested that Freeze’s long-standing disagreements with religious leaders and gospel ministers may have influenced his perception of the event.
“I don't blame you but i blame who invited you for that event. You allow your hatred for pastors and music ministers cloud your judgement so much that you ended up dishonouring the legacy of Alexx,” he stated.
He further accused the broadcaster of creating unnecessary controversy at an occasion that should have been centered on honoring the deceased.
“You went there to constitute nuisance in every ramifications, ranging from dishonouring the dress code and made a video to show of your ego claiming you were apologising for wear black,” Buchi said.
The exchange adds another chapter to the growing debate surrounding the service of songs, with differing opinions emerging over how the event should be remembered and discussed. While Daddy Freeze maintained that he was expressing his personal views about the ceremony, Buchi insists that the focus should remain on celebrating Alex Ekubo’s life and preserving the dignity of his memory.
