Nollywood actress and filmmaker Regina Chukwu has officially unveiled the trailer for her upcoming movie Iyanu, introducing audiences to an emotional story centred on injustice, sacrifice and the search for truth.
Announcing the project on social media, the actress described the film as a powerful and emotional production that reflects difficult realities within society while focusing on family, resilience and accountability.
According to the storyline shared alongside the trailer release, Iyanu follows the life of a young boy living with an intellectual disability whose world changes after becoming caught in circumstances beyond his control.
The story presents a society shaped by corruption and power struggles, where truth becomes difficult to uncover and vulnerable individuals are left to bear painful consequences.
At the centre of the film is Iyanu, whose life takes a devastating turn after becoming trapped in what is described as a nightmare he did not create.
As events unfold, silence becomes a major theme in the story, raising questions about responsibility and the consequences of allowing injustice to continue.
With Iyanu unable to fight his battle alone, his twin sister Itunu emerges as a central figure determined to seek answers and challenge the forces standing in the way of justice.
The movie explores whether those with influence and authority will eventually be held accountable for lives damaged by actions hidden behind power.
Built around themes of betrayal, sacrifice and redemption, Iyanu aims to deliver a socially driven drama while also highlighting the emotional impact of neglect and injustice.
Regina Chukwu described the project as one she invested deeply in and appealed to audiences and colleagues within the entertainment industry to support its release.
In her announcement, she encouraged cast members, crew and fellow filmmakers to help promote the trailer across social media platforms to expand the movie’s reach.
She also appealed directly to fans and viewers to support the project through engagement, including reposting promotional materials, watching the film upon release, commenting and subscribing to her YouTube platform.
Expressing optimism about the project’s performance, she acknowledged the effort and resources invested in bringing the production to life and said she hopes the audience response will justify the process behind creating the film.
The production is directed by King Zeez and produced by Regina Chukwu under the executive production of TRIPPLE R PRODUCTION.
Additional members of the creative team include coordinator Official Akinkolapo, creator Papashoww, cinematographer Cisse Cinematography and sound recordist Tajudeen Opebiyi.
Makeup for the production was handled by Glitter’s Touch while production management was led by Celebrity PM.
The movie also features an extensive cast list bringing together established and emerging Nollywood actors.
Among those appearing in the production are Regina Chukwu, Shoneye Olamilekan, Mo Bimpe, Peju Ogunmola, Biola Adebayo, Taiwo Adeyemi, Antar Laniyan, Kemi Korede, Tokunbo, Joke Lawal and several others.
With the trailer now released, anticipation is expected to continue building ahead of the movie’s official launch.
For viewers interested in emotionally driven stories with social themes and family-centred conflict, Iyanu is positioning itself as a production that aims to combine entertainment with reflection.
