Filmmaker and actress Iyabo Ojo has recorded another major milestone in Nollywood as her latest movie The Return of Arinzo has grossed over ₦351 million at the box office, strengthening her growing influence both as an actress and producer in the Nigerian film industry.
The 48-year-old made the announcement via her official Instagram page on Tuesday, where she expressed gratitude to fans, cinema partners, and supporters who have continued to show strong interest in the project since its release.
She shared a promotional poster of the film alongside a message celebrating its impressive commercial performance across Nigeria and West Africa.
According to her statement, The Return of Arinzo is still enjoying cinema runs in selected locations within Nigeria while also expanding its international presence.
The film has begun screening at Century Cinemax, Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, marking another step in its regional distribution success. Iyabo Ojo also confirmed that the movie is set for a U.S. tour, with scheduled screenings in major cities including Atlanta on June 5, Dallas on June 7, and Houston, Texas on June 13.
The project, which premiered in Lagos on March 29 before officially hitting cinemas on April 3, 2026, is Iyabo Ojo’s directorial debut. It was produced under her Fespris Production banner and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, one of Nigeria’s leading film distribution companies.
The movie boasts a strong ensemble cast featuring some of Nollywood’s biggest names, including Funke Akindele, Mercy Aigbe, Bimbo Akintola, Yinka Quadri, Uzor Arukwe, Adjetey Anang, Juma Jux, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, and several others.
The collaboration of these high-profile actors has been credited as one of the factors driving audience turnout and sustained box office performance.
The storyline of The Return of Arinzo revolves around a woman believed to be dead who unexpectedly returns, triggering a series of emotional and political conflicts within her family and community.
As buried secrets begin to surface, the film explores themes of betrayal, identity, revenge, and the consequences of long-hidden truths.
