Actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has openly acknowledged that controversies in her personal life have often overshadowed her talent, saying she is now focused on reshaping public perception and letting her work speak for itself.
The 37-year-old actress made the admission in a post shared on her Instagram page after a YouTube viewer commented that they had previously disliked her but were beginning to appreciate her acting skills.
Responding, she agreed that public opinion about her had largely been shaped by drama and social media controversies rather than her film career.
She took responsibility for what she described as allowing distractions to define her image over the years.
Nkechi noted that she has now deliberately stepped back from unnecessary online drama in order to concentrate on her craft.
According to her, she is committed to rebuilding her reputation through consistent performances in upcoming film projects.
She also expressed confidence that critics who have labelled her a “failed actress” would eventually change their perception once they see her recent and upcoming works across both YouTube and cinema productions.
The actress, who gained widespread recognition after her role in Omoge Lekki in 2015, has since featured in numerous Nollywood Yoruba and English-language films and has also ventured into film production.
While she has built a strong fan base over the years, her career has often been accompanied by public attention due to controversies surrounding her personal life and social media exchanges.
Despite this, she insists she is now entering a more focused phase of her career, with renewed determination to prioritise acting over drama and public disputes.
