Afrobeats stars Asake and Wizkid have extended their global success as their joint track MMS crosses 100 million streams on Spotify.

The milestone was confirmed in a post on X on Sunday by music tracking platform #TheDebutHub, which revealed that MMS has now become Asake’s eighth and Wizkid’s 17th song, across all credits, to reach the streaming benchmark.

The Grammy-nominated record blends Asake’s energetic Yoruba-infused style with Wizkid’s smooth, melodic delivery, a combination widely praised by fans and critics. The song also earned a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, further highlighting its international reach and the continued rise of Afrobeats globally.

MMS is currently the most streamed track from Asake’s Lungu Boy album, released on August 8, 2024.

The success of the record also builds on momentum from their joint project, Real Vol. 1 EP, released in January 2026. The project, which includes tracks such as “Jogodo,” reportedly achieved strong commercial performance and charted in multiple countries.

Their collaboration has been widely credited for producing some of the biggest Nigerian music moments in recent years, reinforcing both artistes’ influence in the Afrobeats scene.

Fans also celebrated the achievement online. “Asake & Wizkid’s ‘MMS’ has now surpassed 100 MILLION streams on Spotify. Smash hit,” #Asarailu_ wrote on X. Another user, #OlatoyosiE20848, noted, “MMS has now surpassed 100 MILLION streams on Spotify! It’s the 89th Nigerian song to achieve the milestone.”

#djyoungjozzy added, “It marks Asake’s 8th & Wizkid’s 17th Song to surpass this milestone… What’s your favorite?”

The achievement comes as Nigerian artists continue to dominate global streaming platforms and earn widespread international recognition.
