The project, which she wrote, directed and produced, brings together some of Nollywood’s most recognisable faces alongside emerging talents. The film was shot in both Lagos and Houston, Texas, giving the story a blend of Nigerian and diaspora experiences.
At the heart of the movie is the journey of two young individuals from different backgrounds whose paths cross during their university years.
As they navigate friendship, love, ambition and personal challenges, the story explores the realities of growing up and discovering one’s place in the world.
The cast features actors such as Mercy Aigbe, Mike Afolarin, Genoveva Umeh, Chimezie Imo, Tomi Ojo, Daniel Etim Effiong, Ibrahim Chatta, Wumi Toriola, Olumide Oworu, Angel Unigwe, Aisha Lawal and Layi Wasabi. Several other established performers also play key roles, creating one of the most extensive ensemble casts announced for a Nollywood production in recent times.
Adebayo-Esho explained that the film aims to capture the emotional struggles and uncertainties many young people face while trying to balance societal expectations with their personal dreams. According to her, the story reflects the difficult choices that often shape adulthood and influence future success.
The movie marks another major project for the filmmaker, who continues to build a reputation for telling relatable stories that resonate with modern audiences. Industry observers believe the film could attract significant attention due to its youthful themes, diverse cast and cross-cultural setting.
With production already completed and distribution plans in place, anticipation is beginning to grow among movie lovers eager to see how the story unfolds.
“Tele x Zikora” is expected to join the growing list of Nollywood films focusing on youth experiences, relationships and identity, themes that continue to resonate strongly with audiences across Nigeria and beyond.
