Actress and skit maker Sophia Chisom, popularly called Soso, has shared her opinion on kissing scenes in Nollywood, stating that actors are not expected to enjoy such moments because they are strictly part of the job.

The actress made the statement during an interview on TVC’s E-Splash, where she opened up about how she handles intimate scenes while filming movies.

According to Soso, she maintains clear personal boundaries whenever she is required to perform romantic scenes on set. She explained that she does not kiss with her tongue and avoids exchanging saliva with co-stars.

The actress added that her teeth remain closed during kissing scenes and that she only uses her lips to make the scene appear realistic to viewers.

Soso said while some actors may choose to approach onscreen kisses differently, she believes professionalism should always come first. She noted that movie scenes are carefully acted to entertain audiences and should not be treated as real romantic experiences.

The actress also reacted to comments from some Nollywood actors who complained about never experiencing a “good kiss” on set.

Speaking further, she described such complaints as strange because actors are simply carrying out their responsibilities. According to her, the purpose of a kissing scene is to make the movie believable and not to create personal pleasure for the actors involved.

“I don’t think it is okay to swap saliva with every single person that you shoot with. It is a job, and people should see it that way,” she explained during the interview.

Her remarks surfaced shortly after several actors, including Saga Adeolu, discussed their experiences with romantic scenes in Nollywood.

Some of them admitted that kissing scenes are often awkward and rarely enjoyable. Soso’s comments have since generated reactions online, with many social media users debating professionalism, boundaries, and intimacy in the movie industry.

The actress and Saga Adeolu have appeared together in several films, and fans have often praised their onscreen chemistry. Their performances in romantic roles have sparked conversations online, with some viewers believing their connection appears natural and convincing.

Before joining Nollywood fully, Soso gained popularity on social media through her comedy skits where she played the role of a “pure water seller.”

Her funny videos quickly attracted attention online and helped her build a loyal fan base. In previous interviews, she revealed that creating skits was part of her strategy to become visible to movie producers and directors in the entertainment industry.

Over time, she successfully transitioned from online comedy content to mainstream acting, becoming one of the fast-rising faces in Nollywood.
