Singer Peruzzi has shared a deeply personal story about one of the most difficult periods of his life and how it unexpectedly led to a close relationship with fellow music star Davido.
Speaking about his journey, Peruzzi revealed that he was still dealing with the emotional weight of losing his mother when he first met Davido. According to him, that moment marked a turning point in both his personal healing and his career direction.
He explained that their first encounter happened in Dubai, and what began as a casual meeting quickly developed into something far more meaningful. The connection, he said, was immediate and natural, built on shared understanding and mutual respect rather than industry convenience.
Peruzzi described how the relationship evolved beyond music collaboration into a deep personal bond that felt like family. He noted that Davido’s circle embraced him in a way that gave him stability during a fragile moment in his life.
In his words:
“I just lost my mom when I met Davido; we bonded on a true brotherly level. I met him in Dubai, and before I came back to Lagos, they had already moved my properties to his house in Lagos, and I was there for 2 years+”.
The statement highlights not just friendship, but a level of trust and support that went beyond expectations.
According to Peruzzi, arrangements were made for his belongings to be moved to Davido’s Lagos residence even before he returned to Nigeria, a gesture that reflected how quickly he was accepted into that inner circle.
He also disclosed that he spent over two years living at Davido’s home in Lagos. During that period, he was able to rebuild himself emotionally while also continuing to develop his music career within a supportive environment.
The relationship between both artists has often been described publicly as more than professional, and Peruzzi’s recent comments further reinforce that perception. What started as a chance meeting in Dubai ultimately grew into a long-standing bond that influenced both his personal stability and creative journey.
Today, Peruzzi remains recognized not only for his music but also for his early association with Davido’s record label, which played a key role in bringing him into the mainstream Nigerian music scene.
His reflection offers a rare glimpse into the personal side of fame, where loss, friendship, and opportunity can intersect in unexpected ways, shaping the course of an artist’s life.
