Global music star Rihanna has dismissed rumours suggesting tension in her relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky following their appearance at the 2026 Met Gala.
Speculation about a possible disagreement began after the couple was seen in what some social media users interpreted as a tense moment inside a sprinter van after the high-profile fashion event. The short clip quickly circulated online, sparking breakup rumours and debate among fans.
However, Rihanna has now put the rumours to rest by sharing a behind-the-scenes video from the night on her social media page.
Posting the clip with the caption “met recap,” the singer showed moments of laughter and affection between herself and A$AP Rocky, effectively shutting down claims of any conflict.
In the footage, Rihanna was seen getting her makeup done while casually smoking, while Rocky appeared relaxed and in high spirits, raising a glass in a celebratory gesture. The overall tone of the video reflected a light-hearted and affectionate atmosphere between the couple.
The post directly contradicted earlier assumptions that the pair had experienced a disagreement after the event.
A source who spoke to TMZ also explained that the viral moment was misinterpreted, stating that the couple were simply exhausted after a long night at the Met Gala rather than involved in any argument.
According to the source, Rihanna’s reaction during the widely circulated clip had nothing to do with Rocky’s interaction with Italian fashion designer Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, clarifying that the exchange was casual and not romantic.
The couple’s representatives also addressed the speculation, confirming that there was no issue between them.
“Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are very much in love and there was no issue whatsoever,” a statement from their publicist via Backstage Live Event read. The statement further emphasised that the online interpretation of the moment was inaccurate.
At the Met Gala, Rihanna turned heads in a dramatic sculptural Maison Margiela gown, which she described as “giving oyster,” while A$AP Rocky complemented her look in a custom pink Chanel robe, which he said was a tribute to their daughter, Rocki, born in September 2025.
The couple, who also share two sons, RZA and Riot, have continued to attract global attention not only for their fashion statements but also for their growing family life.
Rihanna had previously revealed her third pregnancy during the 2025 Met Gala, further cementing the event as a recurring moment of personal significance in her life.
