Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has opened up about the breakdown of her friendship with fellow movie star Genevieve Nnaji, admitting that she still does not fully understand what caused the distance between them after years of being close colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Speaking during a recent appearance on the Tea With Tay podcast, Kate reflected on their relationship and how things gradually changed over time. 

The actress explained that although they once shared a strong bond, they eventually stopped being as close as they used to be, leaving her confused about what may have gone wrong between them.

According to Kate, she believes there may have been some form of mistrust from Genevieve’s side, although she could not clearly point to any specific incident that caused the fallout. 

She noted that relationships sometimes change naturally as people grow older and move in different directions, but admitted she still wonders what truly happened.

The actress said she never received a direct explanation from Genevieve regarding the shift in their friendship. She explained that despite trying to understand the situation, she has remained unsure about the reason behind the distance between them.

Kate stated that people often drift apart in life for reasons they may not immediately understand. She added that while she values honesty and communication in friendships, not every relationship gets the closure people hope for.

The revelation has sparked conversations among fans of both actresses, many of whom have admired their contributions to Nollywood over the years. 

Both women are regarded as respected figures in the Nigerian film industry and were once seen attending events and working within similar entertainment circles.
