Dave, Tems Earn Spot On Spotify’s 2026 Songs Of Summer Forecast

British-Nigerian rapper and actor Dave and Nigerian music star Tems have been recognised in Spotify’s 2026 “Songs of Summer” predictions, a list spotlighting tracks expected to dominate listeners’ playlists during the season.

The streaming platform unveiled the selection on May 29, with the list curated by Spotify’s global editorial team based on emerging listening patterns and music trends across different regions of the world.

According to Spotify, its editors monitor the global music scene closely and identify songs they believe have the potential to resonate widely with audiences across cultures, genres and countries.

“It’s a song that makes you feel good, that you can listen to outside in the sunshine with your friends, and that has the ability to travel across genres, people, and countries,” said Talia Kraines, Spotify’s Editorial Lead for Pop.

Dave and Tems secured a place on the list with their collaborative track, “Raindance (feat. Tems)”.

The song was released in October 2025 as part of Dave’s third studio album, The Boy Who Played the Harp. Produced by Jo Caleb, Kyle Evans, Jim Legxacy and the two artists, the record blends Dave’s reflective lyricism with Tems’ signature soulful delivery.

Beyond earning critical attention, the track also enjoyed commercial success. It climbed to the top of the UK Singles Chart, becoming Tems’ first No. 1 single in the United Kingdom, while amassing over 500 million streams worldwide.

Spotify noted that this year’s “Songs of Summer” predictions feature artists from multiple genres, including pop, rap, Afrobeats and electronic music. The platform also introduced a voting feature that allows users to predict which song will emerge as the season’s biggest anthem.
