A growing wave of reactions has followed a heated public statement issued by media personality Funny Thinker, who directly addressed Sunday Igboho over what he described as intimidation attempts and threats to his safety.
The message, widely shared across social platforms, has intensified public discussion around the ongoing disagreement between both figures.
Funny Thinker, in a strongly worded account of his position, rejected any suggestion that he should be pressured or silenced outside the legal system. He insisted that disputes should be resolved through formal legal channels rather than through intimidation or the use of third parties.
"Stop using touts to thre@ten me. If you feel I have done something wrong, take me to court. I can never bow to oppression. This was how they k!lled Mohbad. He was being be@ten everywhere but he was forming maturity and he kept quiet."
In his statement, he drew a painful comparison to the death of late singer Mohbad, explaining that silence in the face of alleged abuse can lead to irreversible outcomes. He stressed that he would not allow fear or pressure to dictate his actions or silence his voice.
He also made it clear that despite the tension, he would not leave Ibadan, a place he currently resides, regardless of alleged threats directed at him.
"You can't k!!! me like they k!lled Mohbad. I will never apologize to you and I will not leave Ibadan because of you. GO AND DO YOUR WORST. I supported you when Buhari's government wanted to mess you up."
Beyond the emotional weight of his remarks, Funny Thinker expressed disappointment, suggesting that his relationship with Sunday Igboho had changed significantly over time. He recalled a period when he allegedly stood in support of Igboho during politically difficult moments under the administration of Muhammadu Buhari.
"If I had known you were an oppressor, would I have supported you? I have nothing to lose except my life but before I lose it, I will cry out to the world. Have I ever come to your house to beg for food? Leave me alone."
He further alleged that threats had been issued against him through third parties and questioned the fairness of the situation, drawing comparisons with the families of influential political figures such as Seyi Makinde and Adebayo Alao-Akala. According to him, he has been unfairly targeted despite having no personal dependency or conflict of interest that would justify such treatment.
"You said your touts should k!Il me anywhere they see me. This will not end well for both of us. Can you do this to Seyi Makinde or Akala's child? To the person that leaked my address to him, remember I once covered you when The Ogun State Government was using DSS to chase you."
As of now, neither Sunday Igboho nor representatives linked to him have issued an official response to the allegations. The situation continues to generate intense debate online, with users divided over the claims and calling for restraint and due process from all involved parties.
