Crypto entrepreneur Blord has spoken publicly for the first time following his release from detention, revealing a new alliance with activist Omoyele Sowore and his movement.
Blord, who had been held at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja for over two weeks, regained his freedom after a Federal High Court granted him bail on self-recognition.
His detention had initially been extended pending further proceedings, but his release came earlier than expected after legal efforts intensified around his case.
Addressing supporters after regaining freedom, the businessman expressed deep appreciation for Sowore, whom he credited for stepping in at a critical moment.
According to him, the activist’s intervention played a major role in accelerating his release, even though the two had no prior personal relationship.
Blord disclosed that Sowore took interest in his situation after learning about the circumstances surrounding his detention. He described the move as unexpected but impactful, noting that it gave him renewed confidence during a challenging period.
In a bold declaration, he announced that he has now aligned himself with Sowore’s movement, popularly known as Revolution Now.
The statement signals a new direction for the entrepreneur, who has largely been known for his activities in the cryptocurrency space and online business circles.
His case had drawn significant public attention, particularly on social media, where many Nigerians followed developments closely.
The controversy surrounding his arrest included allegations linked to impersonation involving online personality VeryDarkMan, which fueled debates and reactions across digital platforms.
Legal proceedings around the matter experienced a series of delays, including procedural challenges and opposing filings, before the court eventually ruled in his favour. His release marked the end of a tense period that had seen widespread calls for transparency and fairness.
Blord also used the opportunity to thank those who supported him during his detention, acknowledging the role of public pressure and advocacy in keeping his case in the spotlight.
He emphasized that the experience had reshaped his perspective and strengthened his resolve moving forward.
While it remains unclear what his involvement with Sowore’s movement will entail, his declaration has already sparked conversations about a possible shift in his public role. Observers say the development could see him become more active in socio-political discussions.
For now, Blord appears focused on rebuilding and moving forward after the ordeal, while his association with one of Nigeria’s most vocal activists continues to generate interest.
