Former Big Brother Naija star Tacha Akide has sparked online debate after publicly criticising American rapper Latto over her reported pregnancy.

The controversy began after Latto released her new single “Business & Personal (Intro)” on Thursday night, where she also shared personal updates with fans. Alongside announcing her forthcoming fourth studio album Big Mama, scheduled for May 29, the Atlanta-based rapper revealed she is expecting her first child with her longtime partner, 21 Savage.

The announcement quickly generated buzz online, especially amid claims circulating on social media that 21 Savage is married and has children. While some fans congratulated Latto, others questioned the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy.

Amid the reactions, a social media user defended the rapper, arguing that she is at an ideal stage in life to have a child.

“Latto is 27. This is a perfect time for a baby. Her wallet heavy. She’ll be just fine,” the tweep wrote.

However, Tacha strongly disagreed, offering a blunt critique of the situation. According to her, financial stability does not justify the decision, particularly given the allegations surrounding the rapper’s partner.

“Yes, she’ll be fine. But at the end of the day.. She’s incredibly stup*d with no form of self-value or self-worth.

CAUSE I don’t get how you’re up there in your career, you have access to the best of men, the smartest of men, you’re successful, and you still decide for some weird reason ‘To be a baby mama to a married man??’ So yeah, I agree, she’ll be fine, buuh she’s still stuupid,” she wrote.

Tacha’s remarks quickly gained traction, with many social media users weighing in on the issue. A number of commenters agreed with her stance, questioning the decision to have a child under such circumstances.

One user wrote, “Tacha is so right on this. How do you even get comfortable getting pregnant for a married man?”

Another added, “If it were a Nigerian woman, y’all would be dragging her for getting pregnant for a married man.”

Similarly, another commenter noted, “Did she lie though? The women supporting Latto wouldn’t say the same if it were their own husbands. So much for women supporting women.”

However, not everyone supported Tacha’s comments. Some critics pointed out what they described as hypocrisy, referencing her own personal life.

One user wrote, “Coming from someone who is a baby mama herself?” while another stated, “Talking about someone who doesn’t know you exist is another form of madness.”

The debate has since continued to trend, reflecting divided opinions on relationships, personal choices, and public criticism among celebrities.

Interestingly, Tacha has previously shown a different tone when reacting to pregnancy news. When celebrity designer Veekee James recently announced she was expecting a child, the reality star expressed joy and gratitude, celebrating the news enthusiastically.

Beyond the controversy, Tacha has also been in the spotlight for her candid views on relationships. In a recent interview, she spoke openly about her preferences, revealing that she is not attracted to men who are overly confident about their looks. She added that she intentionally avoids showing interest in men she likes.

The reality star also stirred reactions after claiming that financially struggling men tend to perform better in relationships than wealthy ones, a statement that drew mixed responses online.

Despite her openness on general relationship topics, Tacha has remained largely private about her own romantic life since rising to fame. Her personal relationships continue to be a subject of curiosity among fans.

As conversations around Latto’s pregnancy continue, the situation highlights how celebrity personal decisions often spark wider debates—especially when they intersect with issues of morality, relationships, and societal expectations.
