Popular Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has once again expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that he is fully committed to standing behind the administration and is confident in its leadership.

The comedian made the remarks during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Convention 2026 held in Abuja on Friday, where he spoke about his reasons for backing the president. According to him, his support is based on his belief that Tinubu has played a significant role in improving Nigeria’s economic situation.

Seyi Law explained that when the president assumed office, the country was facing serious economic challenges, including low foreign reserves. He noted that his decision to support Tinubu was influenced by what he described as efforts to stabilise the economy at a critical time.

“And I said to myself, if I was to introduce Mr President, how would I do it? And I just said I will let people know that this is a man that I am willing to stake everything for because he is the man that brought Nigeria back from the brink of economic collapse when our national reserve stood at barely $1 billion,” he said.

He further emphasised his confidence in the administration by pointing to what he believes are positive economic indicators since Tinubu took office.

“But today we celebrate our national reserve that is about $40 billion and our gross reserve that is at about $50.7 billion.”

The comedian suggested that these figures reflect progress and justify his continued support for the president, adding that he remains committed to standing by the government.

Seyi Law has been a known supporter of Tinubu, even before the 2023 presidential election, and has consistently defended his position despite criticism from some quarters. His public endorsement has often sparked debate, especially among Nigerians who hold opposing political views.

In recent times, the comedian also faced backlash over a statement in which he claimed that Nigeria is safer under the current administration compared to a decade ago. The comment triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians disagreeing with his assessment.

Following the criticism, Seyi Law issued an apology, acknowledging that his statement may have been poorly communicated and could have hurt some Nigerians. He clarified that his intention was not to dismiss the concerns of citizens but to express his personal perspective on the country’s progress.

Despite the controversy, the comedian has maintained his stance, continuing to express confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu. His latest remarks at the APC convention further reinforce his loyalty, as he described the president as a leader he is willing to fully support.

Political endorsements from entertainers like Seyi Law have remained a topic of public interest in Nigeria, especially as celebrities often wield significant influence over their fan base. His comments have once again highlighted the intersection between entertainment and politics, where public figures openly align themselves with political leaders.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with economic and social challenges, opinions remain divided on the performance of the current administration. While some, like Seyi Law, believe the country is on the right path, others continue to call for more reforms and improvements in governance.

For now, Seyi Law remains one of the most vocal celebrity supporters of President Tinubu, standing firm in his belief that the administration deserves continued backing. His statement at the APC convention reinforces his long-held position and signals that he has no plans to withdraw his support anytime soon.
