Barbadian global music star Rihanna has reportedly departed Los Angeles after a shooting incident was reported outside her residence in Beverly Hills, sparking concern among fans and prompting a police investigation.
According to multiple reports, the singer was seen on Monday afternoon boarding a flight out of the city. Several suitcases were reportedly transported to a private terminal at Van Nuys Airport, where a twin-engine private jet was waiting to depart. The trip came only hours after authorities formally charged a suspect in connection with the incident.
Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz. Investigators allege that she arrived at the property on Sunday driving a Tesla while armed with a semi-automatic rifle.
Police said the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds toward the residence that Rihanna shares with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky. Authorities believe approximately ten shots were discharged during the incident.
Investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department later discovered evidence of the gunfire at the scene. Officials reported that four bullet holes were found in the gate of the property. Additional damage caused by gunshots was also discovered on the garage of a nearby home.
Despite the frightening nature of the incident, authorities confirmed that no injuries were recorded. It was not immediately clear whether Rihanna or any members of her family were inside the residence when the gunfire occurred.
Following the shooting, the suspect allegedly fled the area in her vehicle. However, police officers later tracked her down and arrested her approximately 12 kilometres away from the property after locating the Tesla she had been driving.
Authorities subsequently filed an attempted murder charge against the suspect as the investigation continues. Law enforcement officials are still working to determine what may have motivated the attack and whether the suspect had any prior connection to the singer.
The shooting has raised security concerns around the safety of high-profile celebrities whose homes are often located in residential areas that still allow public road access. Incidents involving trespassers or armed individuals targeting celebrity residences have occurred in the past, prompting many stars to invest heavily in security systems and private protection.
Rihanna, one of the most influential figures in global pop culture, has long maintained homes in several cities around the world. The Grammy-winning artist is not only known for her music career but also for her successful business ventures in fashion and beauty.
