Nigerian actress and content creator Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has opened up about how she navigates the delicate line between her personal life and professional brand.

Speaking at The Creative Blueprint 2.0, she revealed her reasoning behind keeping her husband, Tunji Ilori, away from her comedy content.

In her candid style, Kiekie stated plainly, “he is not funny.” She emphasized that her content, which is primarily comedic, demands participants who naturally fit the style and energy of her brand.

Her husband, while supportive in private, does not align with the type of humor her audience expects, and she prefers to maintain that consistency.

While her husband remains off-camera, Kiekie does occasionally feature her daughter, Nola. Describing her child, Kiekie said, “she is made for the camera.”

 However, she pointed out that even this is done selectively she collaborates with Nola during school breaks to ensure that participation does not interfere with her daughter’s routine.

Kiekie also highlighted the importance of maintaining clear boundaries between personal identity and public persona. She explained;

 “I have created a very thick line between what is personal to me as Oluwabukunmi Adeaga Ilori and what is personal to my brand as Kiekie.” She added, “What are the elements of my brand? Event and TV host, actor, and content creator. What is my content? Comic.”

Beyond her own experience, Kiekie urged fellow content creators to be mindful about involving family members in their work. “We overmilk viral moments until it becomes annoying. And that is where oversharing comes in,” she noted.

Her approach reflects a growing trend among creators to carefully balance authenticity with professionalism, ensuring that personal relationships are respected while delivering consistent and engaging content to their audience.
