Nigerian social media critic VeryDarkMan has publicly called out actress and politician Tonto Dikeh following a viral video showing her conducting a spiritual deliverance session for a student during a visit to a school.
The controversy began after a clip circulated online showing Dikeh carrying out what she described as a spiritual intervention while visiting the school as part of her weekly outreach activities. In the video, the actress explained that she had been delivered from what she called the “Marine world” and said the experience inspired her to help others find freedom through faith.
However, the footage quickly sparked debate on social media, with VeryDarkMan strongly criticising the act and questioning the decision to involve a student in such a public demonstration.
In a video response shared online, the activist claimed that the school where the incident occurred was one of the institutions he had previously renovated through a personal project. According to him, the school is located in his neighbourhood, and he disapproved of what he described as inappropriate content involving children.
“Tonto Dike, I don’t want to have any problem with you. The school you came for your ‘deliverance’ is in my hood. I will not allow you to be carrying children to do the nonsense you are doing. Is it only poor man’s children who have witchcraft? You can never use rich men’s children to do your content. Go and deliver your child. We were the ones who renovated that school,” he said.
VeryDarkMan also disclosed that he invested a large sum of money into the school renovation project and questioned the purpose of the deliverance session captured in the video.
“I spent over N30million to complete the project. Don’t do that. What did you deliver that girl from? I am not joking. You said God called you. Have you apologised for the group chat you created to frame Naira Marley? Have you apologised for what you did to Naira Marley? Go and deliver your son,” he added.
The latest clash between the two public figures is not the first time they have publicly disagreed.
About a year ago, VeryDarkMan criticised Dikeh over a separate controversy in which she was allegedly involved in a dispute with a car dealer. At the time, he shared a video online showing the actress engaged in a heated confrontation over an alleged unpaid debt.
Reacting to the incident then, the activist accused the actress of abusing her position and questioned whether such behaviour was appropriate for someone holding public office. He also expressed sympathy for her former partners, suggesting they may have endured difficult experiences during their relationships with her.
Despite the criticism, Dikeh appeared largely unbothered by the backlash. The actress took to Instagram to address critics, stating that she values herself too much to be affected by online attacks.
In one of her posts, she told her detractors that she would not waste time responding to negativity. She wrote that she loves herself enough “not to give a flying fucks,” while also warning critics to “fuck around and find out.”
In another message shared on her page, Dikeh emphasised that she refuses to allow others to stress her. She added that her name is “Oba,” suggesting she is not someone who engages in unnecessary arguments.
Their feud also dates back to 2024 when Dikeh took legal action against the activist over claims he made about her online. At the time, she invited him for police questioning and vowed to teach him a lesson for what she described as damaging allegations.
Responding to her threat then, VeryDarkMan claimed they both attended the same gym in Abuja and suggested that she was aware of his daily routine.
“I and Tonto use the same gym in Abuja, and she knows my routine,” he said at the time, adding that his safety could be at risk.
The dispute eventually escalated further when Dikeh reportedly had him arrested in March over allegations of cyberbullying and threats to life.
With their long-running feud continuing to unfold online, the latest disagreement over the school deliverance video has once again placed both personalities at the centre of a heated social media debate.
