Nollywood actress Faithia Williams and her siblings have formally laid their mother, Mrs. Gloria Uzoamaka Williams, to rest in an emotional ceremony attended by close family members.
The wake-keep service, held last Friday, captured the actress in tears as she was consoled by her sons, highlighting the deep sense of loss she continues to grapple with. Videos from the event showed the Yoruba star overcome with grief as she tried to process the passing of her mother.
Earlier today, Faithia and her siblings performed the final rites, paying their last respects as they accompanied their mother’s coffin. Photographs circulating online depict the family united in sorrow, a poignant moment marking the end of a difficult chapter for the actress.
Faithia’s mother passed away last month on the eve of her 55th birthday, leaving the actress and her family in shock. Williams described her mother as her “cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner,” acknowledging the immense void her passing has left.
Following the sad news, Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu shared a heartfelt clip showing Faithia learning of her mother’s death. The video captures the actress breaking down on her phone while colleagues tried to console her, offering a glimpse into the personal grief she endured privately.
Even as she mourned, Faithia expressed the depth of her sorrow on social media, posting a dark-toned image and noting, “my world is dark and broken.” She had also shared a touching video of her mother’s birthday wish shortly before her untimely passing, revealing the heartbreak of having lost her without one final conversation. She described the period following her mother’s death as shattering, saying, “It had been 8 days since she left the world without talking to her. I am still shattered and broken.”
Faithia’s recent loss is compounded by the passing of her father in April 2024. She announced his death via Instagram, mourning his departure and praying for the repose of his soul. A week later, she laid him to rest according to Islamic rites, with some colleagues in attendance, and thanked the public for their condolences and support during the difficult time.
The actress’s recent experiences underscore the profound emotional toll of losing both parents within a short span, even as she continues to navigate her career and family responsibilities.
