United States President Donald Trump has openly expressed his admiration for Trinidadian-born American rapper Nicki Minaj, offering glowing remarks about her personality, intelligence, and influence during a White House event held in celebration of Black History Month in Washington, D.C.
Addressing guests at the gathering, Trump spoke warmly about Minaj’s recent visit, describing her as stunning, insightful, and politically aware. His comments immediately drew attention, sparking widespread reactions across social media and entertainment circles.
“How about Nicki Minaj? Do we love Nicki Minaj? I love Nicki Minaj. She was here a couple of weeks ago. She’s so beautiful,” Trump said, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.
Recalling their interaction, the president went on to share a lighthearted moment about her distinctive style. “I said, ‘Nicki, you’re so beautiful.’ Her nails are like that long. Minaj’s connection with Trump dates back to January, when she attended the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C. At the event, she publicly pledged her loyalty to the president, describing herself as one of his most devoted supporters.
“I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan,” she declared. “And that’s not going to change. What people have to say does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. And it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.”
She further emphasized her belief that Trump is unfairly targeted, adding, “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him. And the smear campaigns — it’s not going to work. He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him.”
Despite criticism from fans and segments of the public who question her political stance, Minaj has remained unwavering. Earlier this month, during an interview with podcaster Katie Miller, she explained that repeated attacks on Trump compelled her to speak out more boldly in his defense.
“Religious freedom is something that’s very important to me,” she said. “But if I’m being honest, President Trump, when I saw how he was being treated over and over and over, I just couldn’t handle it.”
Minaj added that witnessing what she described as persistent negativity toward Trump pushed her to become more vocal, even at the risk of public backlash. According to her, standing up for what she believes in is more important than appeasing critics.
Her outspoken support has continued to generate strong reactions online, with supporters praising her courage while critics accuse her of politicizing her celebrity influence.
