The legal representatives of Sophia Momodu have publicly responded amid rising tensions in her ongoing custody dispute with Afrobeats superstar Davido.
In a strongly worded press statement shared via their official Instagram page, Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors addressed what they described as inflammatory social media remarks allegedly directed at one of their partners, Mrs.
Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah. The lawyer is representing Sophia Momodu in a custody matter currently before a court of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State.
The firm emphasized that the case remains sub judice, meaning it is actively before the court and subject strictly to judicial determination. According to the statement, the outcome of the custody battle will be decided based solely on evidence and established legal principles, not on public opinion or online commentary.
While refraining from discussing the substance of the case, the law firm made it clear that it would not tolerate intimidation or harassment of its legal practitioners for carrying out their professional duties.
It stressed that fearless advocacy is essential to the administration of justice and warned that any attempt to interfere with judicial proceedings would be met with lawful resistance.

"WE STAND RESOLUTE IN THE PURSUIT OF JUSTICE
Our attention has been drawn to all manner of inflammatory public statements chiefly engineered by a Nigerian Afrobeats artiste, via social media directed at our Partner, Mrs Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah arising from her professional conduct in a custody matter presently pending before a court of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State.
That matter is sub judice. It will be decided by the court alone, on evidence and law, and no amount of media commentary will sway that process or our approach to the case. In keeping with the highest professional conduct, no statements on the substance of the case will be issued by us.
However, if legal practitioners are to be threatened, intimidated, or exposed to harassment outside the courtroom for asking questions, testing evidence, or discharging their professional duty to their clients, then the very foundation of justice is imperiled. The administration of justice depends upon fearless advocacy.
When counsel is forced to weigh personal safety against professional duty, the rule of law itself is weakened.
It will not begin with us.
