Popular Nigerian TikToker Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, widely known as Peller, has publicly criticised social media influencer Mukoro Michelle, popularly called King Mitchy, following her controversial TikTok Live session that sparked outrage across social media.
Peller, who is regarded as one of the biggest TikTok streamers in Nigeria, reacted strongly after reports emerged that Mitchy allegedly drank Hypo during a live broadcast, reportedly due to intense online backlash and cyberbullying connected to her ongoing dispute with social media activist Very Dark Man (VDM).
In a viral video, Peller questioned Mitchy’s decision to go live on TikTok while carrying out such a sensitive and dangerous act, suggesting that her actions could attract negative consequences for the platform and its community.
Expressing his anger, Peller said:
“Make una go carry one of una food seller, she dey TikTok o. She don go drink Hypo for live stream. If you wan kpai yourself, why must you come to TikTok Live? Instagram Live dey there. If anything happens to TikTok Live, we go finish you if you never kpai.”
His reaction quickly gained traction online, igniting intense debate among netizens. While some agreed with his stance, arguing that such content could harm TikTok’s image and violate community guidelines, others accused him of being insensitive toward someone who was clearly under emotional distress.
Background Of The Feud
The incident followed several days of heated exchanges between King Mitchy and Very Dark Man. Their dispute began after Mitchy criticised VDM’s publicised school renovation projects, claiming she also completed a similar renovation within six days. She reportedly challenged the activist to provide her with ₦50 million to renovate four schools, further escalating the online feud.
As the argument intensified, Mitchy alleged that she lost her business Instagram page due to the backlash and claimed that VDM questioned the source of her funds. She further accused him of making derogatory remarks, including claims that she engaged in inappropriate behaviour involving a lollipop linked to Seyi Tinubu.
In an attempt to defend her reputation and prove her credibility, Mitchy later shared screenshots of a private WhatsApp conversation with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, where the monarch reportedly praised her philanthropic efforts and encouraged her to continue her positive impact.
Social Media Reactions
The TikTok Live incident, combined with Peller’s harsh reaction, has generated mixed reactions across platforms. While many users expressed concern for Mitchy’s mental health and called for empathy, others criticised influencers for escalating conflicts online and exposing audiences to disturbing content.
The controversy has reignited conversations about cyberbullying, mental health awareness, and responsible content creation in Nigeria’s fast-growing digital space. Several commentators have urged both influencers and activists to adopt more responsible communication, stressing that online disputes can quickly spiral into real-life consequences.
As of the time of filing this report, King Mitchy has yet to respond publicly to Peller’s remarks.
