Popular American streamer Kai Cenat has revealed that he is taking a temporary break from social media following weeks of intense public scrutiny surrounding his split from content creator Gabrielle Alayah.
In a heartfelt post on his Instagram story, the 24-year-old addressed the constant speculation and misinformation that followed the end of their relationship. Cenat acknowledged that while he has shared much of his life online, the recent attention on his private affairs has become overwhelming.
“I just want to say this from my heart. It can be confusing to see news about me and the people around me that isn’t true,” he wrote.
He explained that the scale of scrutiny made it difficult to navigate personal matters publicly. “I’ve been sharing my life online for a long time now and know that once you share aspects of your life with the world, it can be hard to keep things private,” Cenat said.
Apologising for not responding sooner, he cited the need to step back from social media in order to process the situation. “There have been rumours, speculations and comments made about my previous relationship and my friends. I want to apologise for not addressing things sooner, but I needed to take a step back from social media and process everything,” he added.
Cenat urged his followers not to get swept up in online narratives, emphasising that the matter should have remained private. “People react to things in different ways. It is an emotional time and should have been handled privately,” he said.
Reassuring fans, he confirmed that any important updates regarding his life would come directly from him. “If there’s ever something important, something real for me to address or say, you will hear it directly from me. You’ll always hear it from me. Don’t let all the noise distract from that. This applies to everything in my life. My relationships, my businesses, my streams, everything.”
He concluded his message by wishing Alayah well and calling for public understanding. “I wish the best to Gabrielle and ask to please respect both sides.”
Background of the Split
Cenat first made the breakup public in late December 2025. On December 27, he posted on X (formerly Twitter), declaring, “I’m single, I will never be in another relationship again.” The couple had confirmed their relationship in late 2024, around Cenat’s 23rd birthday, and frequently appeared together on his livestreams.
Following the announcement, online speculation intensified, with allegations of infidelity and rumours linking Alayah to rapper NBA YoungBoy. The controversy escalated when Cenat’s assistant, Brianna Lewis, accused Alayah of maintaining contact with another man during the relationship. Alayah denied the claims, asserting that she ended the relationship and disputing the authenticity of the messages shared by Lewis.
In January, Alayah uploaded a lengthy YouTube video titled The Real, in which she denied the allegations, offered to submit her devices for independent verification, and refuted claims of any romantic involvement or pregnancy connected to NBA YoungBoy. She also accused Cenat’s assistant of crossing professional boundaries, although Lewis insisted her evidence was genuine.
Alayah additionally alleged that Cenat had previously been unfaithful, claiming she once discovered him with another woman in his residence.
With his latest statement, Cenat has now addressed the public for the first time since the controversy began, explaining his decision to prioritise personal reflection and emotional well-being over continued online engagement.
