Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor, Ijoba Lande, has accused officers of the Lagos State Police Command attached to the Area “J” Division of physically assaulting him, confiscating his mobile phone, and allegedly stealing cash belonging to his brother.
The allegations emerged after a disturbing video began circulating widely on social media, showing the entertainer in visible distress, with swollen eyes, bloodstains on his face, and apparent signs of physical injury. In the footage, concerned onlookers could be seen pouring water on him in an attempt to calm him down and relieve his discomfort. Other clips reportedly captured moments of the skit maker inside a police facility, where he appeared to be filing a formal complaint over the incident.
In his account, Ijoba Lande disclosed that the confrontation occurred just six days after he returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom. While he declined to provide full details of how the incident started, he insisted that the police officers involved subjected him to unprovoked violence, leaving him battered and traumatised.
According to the comedian, the encounter escalated rapidly, leading to physical assault that resulted in injuries to his face and body. He alleged that during the incident, the officers forcefully seized his iPhone 16 Pro Max and also took $1,200 in cash, which he said belonged to his brother.

The entertainer, known for his humorous skits and roles in Yoruba Nollywood productions, has built a strong fan base across social media platforms through his engaging content and relatable storytelling.
