Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has sparked reactions online after openly praying to be “next in line” for another child while celebrating her colleague, Bidemi Kosoko, who recently welcomed her third child.
Bidemi Kosoko and her husband welcomed a baby boy last month, a development that was met with warm congratulations from fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry.
Taking to her Instagram page on Tuesday, the actress shared fresh photos of herself, playfully asking her followers if anyone had seen a “sexy new mum.”
The proud mother of three expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming love she received, revealing that she was moved by the flood of congratulatory messages, prayers, gifts and kind words from fans, friends and colleagues.
Her post quickly attracted attention, with many Nollywood stars dropping celebratory messages in her comment section.
Among them was Wumi Toriola, who seized the moment to offer a heartfelt prayer for herself. Reacting to Bidemi’s post, the box office queen congratulated her colleague and declared her desire to be next in line for such joy.
“Yummy mummy! Congratulations, darling. Ire na a ba wa kale. I am next in line, IJN,” Wumi wrote.
Her comment immediately caught the attention of fans, many of whom praised her honesty and joined her in prayers, while others revisited her past statements about motherhood and relationships.
This is not the first time Wumi Toriola has addressed conversations around having another child. Last year, the actress responded to rumours on TikTok that she had welcomed a new baby. Making light of the speculation, she humorously congratulated herself and noted that no win was too small, a response that earned her admiration for handling the situation with humour.
Recall that in 2023, Wumi publicly announced her separation from her husband, the father of her son. At the time, she revealed that she walked away from the marriage due to domestic violence and emotional abuse, stating that she chose her sanity and well-being above all else.
Her ex-husband, however, countered her claims with allegations of his own, accusing Wumi of violence, deceit and betrayal during their marriage. He further alleged that the actress assaulted his mother, claims Wumi strongly denied as she slammed him for spreading false narratives.
In a revealing interview in late 2024, Wumi disclosed that she was open to becoming a second wife. According to her, being a single mother of one had reshaped her perspective on relationships, adding that she was now more open to whatever life brings her way.
The actress has also been vocal about her expectations from potential suitors. In a recent message, she jokingly asked interested men to come with a “transfer letter” from their ex and a certificate from their therapist, stressing that she was tired of lies and emotional stress.
As Wumi continues to embrace life boldly and unapologetically, her prayerful comment under Bidemi Kosoko’s post has once again placed her in the spotlight, reminding fans that she remains hopeful about love, happiness and expanding her family.
