Nollywood icon Funke Akindele has once again proven why she remains one of Nigeria’s most formidable forces in the entertainment industry.
Despite reports that her blockbuster project has grossed over ₦2.6 billion, Akindele is refusing to slow down or rest on her laurels.
Responding to a critic who questioned her relentless promotion, Akindele shared the message she received:
“Someone sent a message to me and he said ‘behind the scenes has grossed over 2.6 billion why are you still promoting it? Go and relax now, you’re not tired?’”
The actress and producer did not hold back in addressing the query, emphasizing that her focus is not on money alone but on long-term success and sustainability.
“And I told the person it’s not about the money the most important thing is consistency. If you want to be successful, you want to keep breaking records, you have to be consistent, keep pushing your market it’s never be enough,” Akindele stated.
Her words highlight a philosophy that has guided her career: true success is built on persistence, strategic marketing, and continuous engagement with her audience. While the ₦2.6 billion milestone is a testament to her project’s commercial appeal, Akindele insists that consistent effort and innovation remain the pillars of enduring achievement in Nollywood.
Industry analysts have often credited Akindele’s marketing acumen and unrelenting drive for her repeated box office dominance.
By refusing to rest after major accomplishments, she is setting a benchmark for other actors and producers in the Nigerian film industry.
Her message resonates not only with peers but with aspiring creatives, emphasizing that breaking records is a journey, not a destination.
Funke Akindele’s response is a clear reminder that in entertainment, as in business, consistency, perseverance, and strategic promotion matter just as much if not more than financial success.
