Nigerian music superstar Davido has once again publicly expressed his deep affection for his wife, Chioma Rowland, following his loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
The singer was among the Nigerian nominees at this year’s ceremony, alongside Burna Boy and Ayra Starr, but the Best African Music Performance award ultimately went to South African artiste Tyla. The event took place on Sunday, February 1, in Los Angeles.
After days of silence, Davido took to social media to share moments from his Grammy outing, posting photos with Chioma and his longtime manager, Asa Asika. In his post, the award-winning artiste made it clear that, despite the outcome, his faith remains unshaken.
According to Davido, he initially had no intention of attending the Grammys because he was convinced he would not win. However, Chioma encouraged him to show up regardless, offering words that clearly left a lasting impression on him.
“I said, baby, listen, we lost again, let’s not go ! she said
‘Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat, we outside’,” he wrote.
The singer later took to his Instagram Stories to shower further praise on his wife, describing her as his unwavering support system.
“My ride or die!
She dey my back!

Davido and Chioma’s relationship has often drawn attention from fans, with the couple frequently sharing affectionate moments online. Earlier this year, during a vacation, the singer jokingly complained about Chioma’s long-standing habit of eating his food, noting humorously that she had been doing it for 13 years.
At another point, Chioma shared a photo of a bouquet of flowers Davido gifted her, publicly thanking him for the thoughtful gesture.
When Davido marked his 33rd birthday, Chioma penned an emotional message, praying that God would send “permanent confusion and chaos” to any gathering of evil formed against their family. She also confessed that the singer still gives her butterflies and expressed gratitude for his journey so far, adding that she believes he is destined for even greater achievements.
Living up to her reputation as a supportive partner, Chioma organised a surprise birthday dinner for Davido, which left him visibly touched. She also gifted him a luxury Hermès HAC Haut à Courroies bag, a present he excitedly showed off.
While addressing guests at the celebration, Davido reflected on his career journey, recalling that he released his first song at 17 and is now 33. He described the period as one of the best seasons of his life, noting that he had married “the most beautiful woman” and welcomed children.
In a previous interview, Davido credited Chioma as a major pillar behind his success, revealing that his business often suffers whenever they are not on good terms. He also praised her for being a loving stepmother to his other children, sharing a particularly touching moment between Chioma and his daughter, Hailey.
During their wedding ceremony, Chioma described Davido as her love, best friend, and the calm in her storm, promising to walk with him forever and hold his hand through life’s journey.
Davido, in turn, said Chioma saw the real him and still chose to love him. He referred to her as his healer and “calm in the storm,” adding that God brought her into his life to teach him unconditional love.
In October, the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary, with Davido noting it was “one out of three anniversaries” as he looked forward to forever with Chioma. Days before the anniversary, he shared a heartfelt love note dedicated to her. Reposting it on her Instagram Story, Chioma lovingly referred to him as her “sweet husband.”
Despite the Grammy disappointment, Davido’s latest posts make it clear that, for him, love, family, and humility remain his biggest wins.
