Nollywood actress Aishat Raji has finally addressed the long-running accusations made by filmmaker Austine Emmanuel, who had alleged that she played a role in derailing his career by working with movie marketers to blacklist him.
The controversy began after a 2025 interview in which Emmanuel claimed he introduced Raji to the movie industry and that they were once romantically involved. He further alleged that after their relationship ended, the actress teamed up with a leading marketing outfit, Toymax Film Holdings, to ensure he was sidelined from directing and scriptwriting opportunities.
Reacting during a TikTok live session that has since gone viral, Raji firmly rejected all the claims, describing them as false, malicious, and driven by jealousy.
She categorically denied ever having a romantic or sexual relationship with Emmanuel, insisting that his narrative was completely fabricated.
Raji also refuted his claim of helping her break into Nollywood, stating that her debut role came through veteran actor Rasaq Olayiwola, popularly known as Ojopagogo, and not Emmanuel.
According to her, Emmanuel persistently pursued her despite knowing she was already in a relationship, adding that his accusations stem from bitterness over her success in the industry.
“Austine tell the world the reason for your downfall. Bring out the evidence that we ever had sex. If you have family issues, don’t put your frustration on me,” she said.
She went on to reveal that she had cautioned him against allowing his obsession with her to negatively affect his personal life.
“I warned you then not to destroy your marriage because of me when you were chasing me around,” she added.
Responding to claims circulating online that she wanted to become his second wife, Raji dismissed the suggestion and launched into a scathing rebuttal.
“To those saying I wanted to be his second wife, how can I be a second wife to a poor man who could not even afford to rent a house, a man who never contributed a dime to his wedding, who does not know what his kids eat,” she stated.
“You can not even afford a three square meal. You were sleeping with different married women and you expect to make it in life.”
Raji also flipped the blacklisting allegation back on Emmanuel, accusing him of actively working behind the scenes to damage her career.
“You told producers not to use me in their movies again, it is karma for you,” she said.
She concluded by asserting that Emmanuel is solely responsible for his professional struggles, stressing that no conspiracy or external interference played any role in his setbacks.
The heated exchange has since generated intense reactions across social media, with fans and industry watchers debating the claims and counterclaims from both parties.
