Nigerian music continues to dominate the global stage as several top artists have secured nominations for the 2026 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.
The official list, released via the MOBO Instagram page, features some of Nigeria’s biggest stars, including Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Rema, Ayra Starr, Adekunle Gold, and Shallipopi.
All these artists were shortlisted in the prestigious Best African Music Act category, alongside emerging talents such as Joshua Baraka, Moliy, and South African singer Tyla.

The Song of the Year category features a mix of chart-topping hits and emerging tracks from artists such as AJ Tracey featuring Jorja Smith with Crush, Fred Again, Skepta & Plaqueboymax with Victory Lap, and Pinkpantheress with Illegal, among others.
For newcomers, the Best Newcomer category recognizes rising talents including DC3, EsDeeKid, Finessekid, Jim Legxacy, Kwn, Namesbliss, Nia Smith, Sekou, Skye Newman, and YT.
Other categories further underscore the broad spectrum of musical and entertainment achievements celebrated by the MOBO Awards.
These include Video of the Year, Best R&B/Soul Act, Best Alternative Music Act, Best Grime Act, Best Hip-Hop Act, Best Drill Act, Best Caribbean Music Act, Best Jazz Act, Best Electronic Act, Best Gospel Act, Best Producer, Best Performance in a TV Show or Film, and Best Media Personality.
