Popular Nigerian content creator and livestreamer Carter Efe has clapped back at socialite Tunde Perry following comments suggesting he would never get the opportunity to meet Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.
Tunde Perry had earlier taken to social media to flaunt his recent link-up with Wizkid, who is currently in Lagos. In the post, he confidently claimed that Carter Efe should forget about ever meeting the Grammy-winning singer, implying exclusivity and relevance through proximity to the music star.
Addressing the issue during a livestream, Carter Efe dismissed the remarks as unnecessary and deliberately provocative. He questioned why meeting Wizkid should be treated as a benchmark for success or validation, stressing that celebrity proximity does not define personal growth or relevance.
Carter Efe went on to reference his own experience with Davido, revealing that the Afrobeats star once appeared on his livestream — a moment he described as life-changing. “Since Davido come my livestream, different things just dey come my life. Different deals. People dey reach out to me, dey dash me money and other things because of Davido.
Because you sit down near Wizkid, body dey sweet you, you come dey talk anyhow. Come sit down with Davido make you see how your life go change. You dey tell me I no go ever see Wizkid? Wetin I wan use Wizkid do? Wizkid na God?” Carter Efe said.
He further emphasized that meaningful relationships, impact, and self-development matter far more than bragging rights tied to knowing a specific celebrity. Carter also cautioned against placing any artist on a godlike pedestal, insisting that everyone’s journey and blessings are different.
