The body of Ayoola Ayanwale, the man accused of killing his wife in a tragic domestic violence incident, has reportedly been found in Ogun State, sending shockwaves across the community and social media. Residents confirmed that the body was discovered at about “5:20 p.m.” on Friday at the new site of “Palmgroove CDA” in the Sotubo area of Ogun State.
Eyewitnesses at the scene said the deceased strongly resembles Ayoola Ayanwale, who had been declared wanted following the alleged stabbing of his wife, Mrs. Ayobami Ganiyatu Ayanwale, to death at their home in “River Valley Estate” on Thursday night. The brutal incident had earlier sparked widespread outrage, calls for justice, and renewed national conversations around domestic violence in Nigeria.
According to residents, items recovered near the body include identity cards believed to belong to the suspect, as well as bottles containing substances suspected to be poisonous, including “Sniper.” Witnesses also claimed that a foamy substance was visibly coming from the mouth of the deceased, fueling speculation that the death may be linked to poisoning.
Despite the disturbing discovery, authorities have not officially confirmed the identity of the body. Efforts to reach the Ogun State Police Command for a formal statement were still ongoing at the time of filing this report. Sources within the community said security personnel have since secured the area, and the body is expected to undergo forensic examination to determine the cause of death and confirm identity.
The alleged killing of Mrs. Ayobami Ganiyatu Ayanwale had ignited massive reactions online, with many Nigerians describing the incident as “a tragedy that could have been prevented.” Civil society groups and activists continue to demand stronger policies, early intervention, and support systems to address domestic violence cases nationwide.
As investigations continue, this tragic development leaves many unanswered questions, while the public awaits official confirmation from law enforcement authorities.
