Nollywood actress and filmmaker Wumi Toriola has taken to social media to publicly call out what she described as the constant oppression and intimidation by Estate Executives, sparking widespread reactions online.
The outspoken actress made the revelation on her Instagram page, where she expressed deep frustration over her experience with the management of her estate in Lekki, Lagos. According to Wumi Toriola, some Estate Executives wield power in a manner that is more oppressive than that of politicians, leaving residents feeling harassed rather than protected.
In a series of emotional posts, the actress did not mince words as she criticized what she termed the abuse of authority by estate officials. She stated that rather than fostering peace and cooperation, many estate executives act like emperors ruling over subjects.
“You see this so-called Estate Executives.
They oppress and intimidate more than politicians,” she wrote.
Wumi Toriola further lamented that the situation had become unbearable, revealing that she was considering relocating back to her other residence in Eliot due to the alleged constant harassment.
“Make I pack go to my other house for Eliot.
Lekki Landlady in the mud,” she added.
The actress went on to emphasize that leadership without empathy amounts to oppression, stressing that residents deserve respect and understanding, not fear.
“Estate Executives are not emperors.
Power without empathy is oppression, and residents are not subjects.
I am oppressed, intimidated, and I am tired,” Wumi declared.
In a move that further fueled engagement, Wumi Toriola called on her neighbors in Eliot to identify themselves in the comment section, suggesting that she might soon be returning to the area.
“My neighbours in Eliot, please let me see you in the comments section.
Wahala yi ti poju,” she concluded.
Her outburst has since ignited conversations across social media, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences and calling for accountability, transparency, and humane leadership within residential estates.
