The Islamic funeral prayer (Janaza) for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif Kevin Ayodele, both close friends of heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, has been officially scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in London.
According to details made available, the Janaza service will commence at 10:00am at the London Central Mosque, located at 146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG. The announcement comes weeks after the tragic passing of the two men in a fatal road accident in Nigeria, an incident that sent shockwaves through both local and international communities.
Following the devastating crash, the remains of Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif Kevin Ayodele were repatriated to the United Kingdom, allowing family members, friends, and well-wishers to prepare for a proper Islamic burial in accordance with religious rites. The repatriation process was described as emotionally draining but necessary to ensure the deceased were laid to rest among loved ones.
The loss has been particularly painful for Anthony Joshua, who is widely known not just for his achievements in the boxing ring but also for his strong bonds with friends and family. The late Sina Ghami and Kevin Ayodele were said to be part of Joshua’s close circle, making their sudden deaths even more heartbreaking.
The Janaza prayer is expected to draw a large turnout, including members of the Muslim community, sports figures, and sympathizers who wish to pay their final respects. Many have described the moment as “a painful farewell”, emphasizing the fragility of life and the unpredictable nature of tragedy.
As preparations continue, tributes have continued to pour in, with mourners describing the deceased as kind-hearted, loyal, and full of life. Their deaths serve as a solemn reminder of how quickly lives can be lost and how deeply such losses are felt across borders.
The families have requested prayers for the departed souls, asking Allah to grant them Al-Jannah Firdaus and to give their loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
