Nollywood actress Dakore Akande has finally spoken out following the painful loss of her father, whose death has thrown her family into deep mourning. The veteran actress took to social media to share an emotional tribute, expressing both grief and gratitude as she reflected on his life, legacy, and the impact he had on his children.
The sad news of their father’s passing was earlier announced by Dakore’s brother, popular Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson. Timini revealed that he never imagined beginning the new year with such devastating news, stating that losing his father on January 1, 2026, was an unimaginable blow. He also pledged to continue living in a way that would make his late father proud.
Breaking her silence on Instagram, Dakore described herself as “totally heartbroken yet glad that you’re free from pain.” The actress poured out her emotions in a deeply touching message addressed directly to her late father, whom she fondly called “Dearest Papa.”
She wrote: “My Darling Dakorians, Dearest Papa passed away on the 1st of January 2026. Daddy, may your soul rest in perfect peace and power.”
Dakore went on to celebrate her father’s life, appreciating the invaluable lessons he instilled in her and her siblings. According to her, his legacy of excellence, love for music, laughter, and impeccable sense of style will forever live on in their hearts.
“I’m grateful for the memories and the laughter, your legacy of excellence that you instilled in my siblings and me, your love for music, and your sense of style!” she added.
Acknowledging the realities of family dynamics, the actress emphasized that love remained constant despite challenges, saying: “Despite the complexity of our family, you are immensely loved and missed beyond comprehension.”
She concluded her tribute with a powerful declaration of eternal love: “I love you forever and till infinity and beyond.”
Dakore also appealed to her fans, fondly called Dakorians, asking them to say a word of prayer for her father and the family as they navigate this painful period of grief.
