Popular Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has shared rare and deeply personal insights into her views on marriage, relationships, and the qualities she values most in a future husband.

Speaking candidly during a conversation with renowned broadcaster Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the actress made it clear that character, especially genuine kindness, outweighs wealth, social status, or material success in her definition of an ideal life partner.

According to Isime, kindness is not just a preference but a non-negotiable requirement for anyone who hopes to be close to her, whether as a friend or a spouse.

She emphasized that she is not impressed by superficial displays of goodness, stressing that authenticity matters more than appearances. For the actress, a kind heart lays the foundation upon which every other aspect of a relationship can be built and improved.

Expressing her readiness for marriage, the actress openly acknowledged her age and stage in life, stating;

“I am of marriage age. I am 34. Yes, I am a very attractive lady and men can desire me. But I have to choose what I settle with. First of all, I like kindness. I find kindness one of the most attractive traits.”

Nancy Isime further explained that kindness is a prerequisite even before friendship can be considered, let alone marriage. In her words, "Before you can be my friend or even relate with me, not to talk of getting married to me, you have to be kind. And I don’t mean performative. I mean genuine kindness. Once you are kind, everything else can be worked on,” she said.

The actress also revealed that she is open to marrying a man who may not meet society’s traditional expectations of success, as long as he possesses a kind spirit. She believes that flaws, limitations, or shortcomings can be addressed over time when the foundation of a relationship is built on empathy, respect, and sincerity.

Nancy Isime’s honest reflection has sparked conversations online, resonating with many who believe that emotional intelligence and character should take priority over material considerations in choosing a life partner.
