Nollywood actress and philanthropist, Tonto Dikeh, has opened up about her deeply personal spiritual journey, revealing that she believes she was called by God at a very young age.

The controversial movie star made the revelation during a recent livestream where she spoke candidly about her faith, her life experiences, and the events that have shaped the woman she has become today. According to Tonto, her relationship with God began long before fame, money, or public attention entered her life.

She disclosed that she first felt a strong calling to serve God at the age of 19, admitting that she was so convinced at the time that she was preparing to become a pastor before she eventually ran away from the path. Despite stepping back from full-time ministry, the actress said her connection to God never truly faded.

Tonto explained that she had been actively involved in church activities since her secondary school days, stressing that her spiritual foundation was laid very early in life.

She noted that even after leaving school, she remained consistent in her faith and service, which helped shape her understanding of God and His purpose for her life.

“I’ve always had this calling right from when I was a child. At 19, I was going to be a pastor until I ran away. I’ve been in church since I left secondary school, so I had always known God intimately and intensely. And I’ve always known I had this calling,” she shared during the livestream.

Reflecting further on her life journey, the actress stated that nothing about her experiences has been ordinary. She suggested that the challenges, controversies, and public scrutiny she has endured were all part of a divine process designed to mould her character and strengthen her voice.

According to Tonto, God intentionally allowed her to go through certain difficult phases so she could emerge stronger and more purposeful. She described herself as a “firebrand,” insisting that her resilience and boldness were products of everything she has been through.

“If you watch what has happened in my life, it is not ordinary. God called me and needed me to go through all I had to become the firebrand that I am today,” she added.

Over the years, Tonto Dikeh has remained one of the most talked-about figures in Nollywood, known not just for her acting career but also for her outspoken nature and philanthropic efforts. Her latest revelation has sparked conversations online, with many fans praising her honesty and openness about her faith.

The actress continues to use her platform to inspire, provoke thought, and share her truth, proving once again that her story goes far beyond the screens she appears on.
