Nigerian investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has responded strongly to recent comments made by billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, the father of Afrobeats superstar Davido, following renewed public attention on the long-running DNA and paternity controversy involving Anu Adeleke.

Earlier this week, Nollywoodtimes reported that Mr Adeleke convened a press briefing to address allegations surrounding his son’s alleged child. During the briefing, he categorically stated that Anu is not his granddaughter and referenced DNA tests he claimed had already been conducted in the past to resolve the issue.

At the press conference, Mr Adeleke also accused Kemi Olunloyo of impersonating a minor on social media with the intention of attacking and discrediting Davido. According to him, messages attributed to Anu were posted from an Instagram account he alleged was being controlled by Olunloyo. He further read out a message he said came from Anu’s aunt, in which she denied owning or managing the controversial account.

Raising legal concerns, the Adeleke family patriarch questioned the legality of impersonating a minor online and described Olunloyo’s actions as part of a sustained campaign against his son. He made it clear that legal action was being considered.

“This Kemi Olunloyo has been after my son David for many years. Everything she says about David is always negative. We are going to consider suing her,” Mr Adeleke said.

Reacting to the viral video from the press conference, Kemi Olunloyo dismissed the accusations and openly challenged Davido’s father. The journalist admitted to creating Anu’s Instagram account but insisted her actions were motivated by concern for the child’s welfare, not malice.

Olunloyo explained that she opened the account during her time in Nigeria and later handed over full access to Anu before leaving the country. She maintained that she did not impersonate the child and denied any attempt to defame Davido or his family.

The outspoken journalist further claimed she conducted an independent investigation into the matter and alleged that Davido used his cousin B-Red’s phone to communicate with Anu’s mother before they allegedly had an intimate encounter. She stressed that her involvement stemmed from a desire to ensure accountability and protect the child’s future.

According to Olunloyo, she has also taken financial steps to support Anu. She revealed that she opened a savings account in the child’s name and has been putting money aside for her over the years. She added that the funds would be accessible to Anu when she turns 18, emphasizing her wish for the preteen to “live a good life.”

As the public feud escalates, the DNA saga continues to generate widespread debate online, with many Nigerians closely watching how the Adeleke family and Kemi Olunloyo will proceed amid looming legal threats and unresolved questions.
