Controversial social media commentator and activist, VeryDarkMan, has publicly declared his support for former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello as he prepares to contest for the Kogi Central Senate seat, a position currently held by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
In a statement that has since sparked intense reactions across social media, VeryDarkMan acknowledged Yahaya Bello’s troubled past, including controversies, public criticism, and allegations involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). However, he argued that these experiences have shaped Bello into a more refined and responsible leader.
“In light of what had happened in the past, the controversy, the accusations by the EFCC, and some Nigerians, I see a true leader that has worked on his flaws and over time became a better man,” VeryDarkMan said.
The outspoken commentator stressed that leadership should not be judged solely by past mistakes but by growth, accountability, and the ability to improve over time. According to him, Bello’s political journey reflects personal development and lessons learned through experience.
“Everybody deserves a second chance,” he added. “YOU, Yahaya Adoza Bello, deserve a second chance to show Nigerians the good in you.”
VeryDarkMan went further to state that his support is rooted in what he described as experience, leadership exposure, and political capacity, qualities he believes Yahaya Bello possesses more than his opponent.
He openly criticized Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s credentials, claiming she lacks the leadership experience and qualifications required to effectively represent Kogi Central at the National Assembly.
“…that is why I am standing firmly with you as you contest for the Kogi Central Senate seat against Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, who doesn’t have the experience and qualifications of a leader,” he stated.
The endorsement has added a new layer of tension to the already heated Kogi Central senatorial race, as both Yahaya Bello and Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan remain influential figures with strong followings. Political observers believe VeryDarkMan’s support could sway public opinion, especially among younger voters who closely follow online political commentary.
As the election approaches, reactions continue to pour in, with Nigerians sharply divided over whether Bello deserves another opportunity or whether Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan should retain her seat.
