The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has declared that Nigeria will experience a visible reduction in hunger and economic pressure in 2026, alongside a reversal of the mass emigration trend popularly referred to as Japa.

The respected cleric made the prophetic pronouncements during the church’s 2025/2026 Crossover Service held at Redemption City, Ogun State, between the night of December 31, 2025, and the early hours of January 1, 2026. The prophecies were later formally read out on Thursday morning.

Speaking on Nigeria’s economic situation, Pastor Adeboye said God revealed that food scarcity across the country would ease gradually in the new year. He linked this improvement to the expected growth and stability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which he said would begin to flourish nationwide.

“There will be a reduction in hunger in Nigeria this year,” Adeboye declared. He added that “God says Small and Medium Enterprises will begin to blossom.”

According to him, the revival of small businesses would play a major role in easing economic hardship, creating opportunities, and strengthening livelihoods for many Nigerians who have struggled under rising living costs and inflation.

Beyond economic recovery, the RCCG leader also spoke about migration, predicting a shift in the long-running trend of Nigerians leaving the country in search of greener pastures. Over the past few years, the Japa phenomenon has intensified, particularly among young professionals seeking better opportunities abroad.

However, Adeboye said the direction would begin to change in 2026.

“He says something that I can only put down as a reverse Japa,” the cleric stated, adding that “Many people who have Japa will come back home.”

The prophecy suggests that improving conditions within the country would motivate some Nigerians in the diaspora to return, either to invest, work, or resettle. This prediction comes amid growing national conversations around brain drain, labour shortages, and the long-term effects of migration on Nigeria’s development.

Pastor Adeboye further described 2026 as a year that would surpass the previous one in significance and impact. According to him, the “wind” that began blowing in 2024 would grow stronger, bringing increased momentum and positive changes in different spheres of life.

“2026 will be more remarkable than 2025,” he said, adding that there would be “more opportunities this year than last year, more successes and more victories, with less failures.”

He explained that individuals, families and even nations would experience better outcomes if they positioned themselves correctly, as the year would carry unusual openings for progress and advancement.

However, while sharing the prophecies concerning Nigeria, Adeboye disclosed that the message he received was in two parts. He noted that only one part had been released publicly, while the second aspect would be withheld until he had prayed further and received divine approval to make it known.

According to him, the decision to delay the second part was based on spiritual guidance, stressing that he would only speak when given clear permission.

On global affairs, the cleric expressed cautious optimism about international stability in 2026. He said the chances of a major global conflict breaking out in the new year would be lower compared to the previous year.

Adeboye also touched on environmental conditions, noting that weather patterns in 2026 would largely resemble those experienced in 2025, suggesting no extreme deviations beyond what people were already accustomed to.

The annual RCCG crossover service traditionally draws millions of worshippers across Nigeria and around the world, with many closely following Pastor Adeboye’s prophecies as spiritual guidance for the coming year. As Nigeria continues to grapple with economic reforms, inflation, food insecurity and migration pressures, his declarations have once again sparked public reflection and conversation about what 2026 may hold for the nation.
