2026 Oscars: Academy Releases First Set of Nominations

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the initial list of nominees for the 98th Academy Awards, officially kicking off the race to the 2026 Oscars.


The nominations were unveiled by actors Lewis Pullman and Danielle Brooks, with films directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and Ryan Coogler quickly standing out among early award contenders. Anderson’s One Battle After Another and Coogler’s Sinners have already generated strong buzz across major categories.


Organisers confirmed that the Oscars ceremony will be held on March 15, 2026. It was also revealed that comedian Conan O’Brien will return to host the event, reprising his role as master of ceremonies.
