Fans of Nigerian superstar Wizkid have been thrown into excitement following a fresh update about his first son, Bolu Balogun, popularly known as Champz, as the teenager continues to record impressive milestones in his budding music career.
The 14-year-old artist recently released his debut single titled “Champion Sound,” and the track has been generating massive attention across various digital streaming platforms. Music lovers and industry watchers alike have praised the song’s sound and delivery, with many describing it as a strong debut for someone so young.
According to reports, “Champion Sound” performed remarkably well on Apple Music, where it reportedly surpassed songs by established Nigerian acts Blaqbonez and Fola on the chart. The achievement further fueled conversations online, with fans applauding Champz’s early success and drawing comparisons with his famous father’s musical legacy.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Champz’s mother, Shola Ogudu, shared another major update that sparked widespread reactions.
She revealed that following the song’s success, her son had begun receiving multiple performance booking offers ahead of the Christmas season. However, she disclosed that all offers were politely declined.
Explaining the reason behind the decision, Shola made it clear that the family is taking a careful and patient approach to Champz’s career, placing his growth and development above immediate financial gains or public exposure.
She wrote:
“We want to say a Big Thank you for the countless show invitations and for considering Champz. Due to his age, we’re prioritising development over live performances for now, and have had to decline show bookings. We truly appreciate the interest and understanding.”
Shola further hinted that the journey is only beginning, as she announced that another track from Champz is expected in 2026, encouraging fans to stay tuned.
