A heartbreaking incident has shocked Nigerians after a secondary school staff member, Magaji Adebanjo, released a distressing video from what appears to be a kidnappers’ den along the Kabba road in Kogi State.
In the video, which was published by SaharaReporters, Adebanjo is seen trembling in fear as an armed kidnapper points a gun to his head while he begs desperately for his life.
Identifying himself with a shaky voice, Adebanjo said:
“My name is Mogaiji Adebanjo. I’m from Imo Arikoko in Ondo State. I work with Vine Crest College. When I was coming from Iperu, going to Abuja, I was kidnapped along the Kabba road.”
According to him, the armed abductors are demanding a frightening ransom of ₦100 million for his release. The terrified educator, who works with Vine Crest College, tearfully appealed to Nigerians, the government, and security agencies to intervene before it is too late.
In the emotional video, he cried out:
“Please help me! I don’t want to d!e. I have a pregnant wife and a four year old son and an aged father. I don’t want to d!e. Please help me.”
The chilling footage has drawn widespread concern as it highlights the escalating insecurity and frequent kidnappings on Nigerian highways, particularly the notorious Kabba road, known for repeated attacks and abduction cases.
Citizens and advocacy groups are calling on the government to intensify rescue efforts and enhance security presence in the area to avoid further tragedies.
As the nation reacts to the disturbing video, many are pleading for urgent action to ensure the safe return of Magaji Adebanjo, whose young family and elderly father depend on him. The emotional weight of his plea has once again ignited conversations about Nigeria’s worsening security challenges, the rising rate of kidnappings for ransom, and the need for decisive intervention.
