Nollywood actress Lizzy Gold has shared an emotional yet professional side of her Christmas celebration, revealing that she is spending the festive season on a movie set alongside her colleague, Yul Edochie, instead of with family and loved ones.
While many Nigerians and celebrities across the world marked Christmas Day with loved ones, food, and merriment, the Asaba-based actress found herself fully committed to work.
Taking to her Instagram page, Lizzy Gold posted photos from a movie location where she was seen alongside Yul Edochie, confirming that the duo would be working throughout the Christmas holiday.
Expressing her reality, Lizzy wrote:
“People are with their loved ones celebrating the Xmas am here filming with Odogwu @yuledochie. It’s obvious we are spending the Xmas on set.
Doing this for Sunnec Production.”
The post immediately drew reactions from fans and colleagues, with many applauding her dedication, professionalism, and passion for the Nollywood craft. For Lizzy Gold, the sacrifice appears to be part of the price of success in the highly competitive Nigerian movie industry.
Lizzy and Yul Edochie have built a strong working relationship over the years, often featuring together in several Nollywood productions. Their on-screen chemistry and shared commitment to quality storytelling have made them a familiar duo to fans.
The admiration between both actors is mutual. When Lizzy Gold recently acquired a brand-new car, Yul Edochie publicly congratulated her, praising her exceptional work ethic and stating that her consistency and hard work made the achievement well-deserved.
Earlier this year, during Yul Edochie’s birthday in January, Lizzy Gold also paid him a heartfelt tribute. She openly acknowledged the significant role he has played in her career, noting that his passion for filmmaking is one of the qualities she deeply respects. According to her, her brand in Nollywood would not exist without Yul, adding that her name in the industry cannot be mentioned without acknowledging his influence.
Despite missing out on traditional Christmas celebrations, Lizzy Gold’s story highlights the dedication many entertainers put into their craft, even during moments meant for rest and family. For her, Christmas on set is not a complaint — it is a commitment to growth, passion, and purpose.
