Nollywood actor Jamiu Azeez is closing the year on an emotional and redemptive note after finally receiving forgiveness from his senior colleague and mother figure, Opeyemi Aiyeola. The long-awaited reconciliation has stirred reactions across the Nigerian movie industry, with many colleagues and fans celebrating what Azeez described as his “best gift of 2025.”

Earlier this month, NollywoodTimes reported that the Yoruba movie star had publicly apologised to Opeyemi Aiyeola over actions he admitted caused her deep pain. In his heartfelt apology, Jamiu openly acknowledged that his journey in the industry could not be told without her name boldly written in it. He admitted that his actions cut deeply and left lasting emotional wounds.

Taking to his Instagram page to share the good news, the actor confirmed that Opeyemi Aiyeola had forgiven him, describing the moment as one of the most meaningful milestones of his life. According to Jamiu, the reconciliation was made possible through the intervention of close friends, colleagues, and respected industry elders who pleaded on his behalf.

He expressed profound gratitude to those who stood by him during the difficult period, especially the fathers and mothers of the Nollywood industry who personally reached out to appeal to Opeyemi Aiyeola.

Overflowing with gratitude and humility, Jamiu poured encomiums on Opeyemi, describing her as his sister, mother, mentor, boss, cheerleader, number one fan, and favourite of all time. He acknowledged that her forgiveness was an act of grace and love he did not take lightly, adding that the experience had taught him valuable life lessons.
