Popular Nigerian media personality and entrepreneur Toke Makinwa has stirred emotions online after sharing a heartfelt message of gratitude to God while reflecting on her journey through 2025.
As the year drew to a close, the TV host revealed that she had entered 2025 with a simple but powerful prayer — that she would end the year declaring, “What a difference a year can make.” According to her, God answered that prayer in ways she never imagined.
In an emotional note shared on her social media page, Toke described 2025 as a year that tested her faith, refined her choices, and ultimately revealed God’s unwavering love. She credited God for protecting her reputation, steering her away from wrong decisions, and turning waiting seasons into moments of beauty.
“On the last Sunday of 2025, I really just want to thank you, Jesus, for not holding anything back from me, for giving me a year that only you could have seen me through, for putting your own reputation on the line to save me from wrong choices and for finally making it all beautiful in your time,” she wrote.
The media star emphasized that the year taught her deep spiritual lessons, particularly about identity, gratitude, and love. She shared that she finally understood that true identity is found in Christ and that God’s love is unconditional — not something earned by performance.
“I learnt in gratitude that you find who you are in Christ. I learnt the type of love that I’ve searched for all my life: that God loved me first, and it is not a performative kind of love. I did nothing to earn it; I couldn’t even earn it if I tried. God wants the best for me.”
One of the most touching parts of her reflection was her revelation about becoming a mother. Toke expressed amazement at God’s sense of humour as she welcomed a baby girl whom she lovingly described as a gift sent to shepherd.
“Then you gave me this precious gift to Shepherd… It has been leading up to 5 months, and she is teaching me about faith, patience, and the best kind of Love.”
Concluding her message, Toke reaffirmed her faith in manifestation and divine timing, confidently stepping into the new year.
“I told God I wanted to end the year 2025 saying, ‘What a difference a year can make,’ and boy, he did it. I manifested it. Roll on 26, I’m excited for all that you’ve got planned for us.”
Her message has since resonated with fans, inspiring conversations about faith, gratitude, motherhood, and personal growth.
