Nollywood star Faithia Williams has officially ended her rift with colleague Funke Akindele, signalling a fresh start months after their public disagreement.
Last year, Faithia publicly accused Funke of blocking her on Instagram because she supported Mercy Aigbe and her film project. At the time, she boldly told Funke that “she wasn’t her God” and insisted she wouldn’t be bothered by what she described as a petty move.
Now, the atmosphere has changed. Faithia took to Instagram to share a video of a special package sent to her by Funke—an invitation to the premiere of Funke’s upcoming movie. While showing off the gift, Faithia praised her colleague’s consistency, writing:
“December is here again, and you know what that means!
Behind the Scenes by Funkejenifaakindele is premiering on December 7th, 2025.
Catch it at the cinemas starting from December 12th! You already know it’s gonna be a blockbuster.
Funkejenifaakindele never disappoints! Get ready to be thrilled!”
Fans quickly celebrated the reunion. One user, sherifah.xx, wrote, “Good to see them back. Love you mamas.” Another fan commented, “Good to see them back,” while Emmanuel_gbenguse added, “This is awesome.”
The reconciliation follows several past controversies involving Funke and other Nollywood stars. In April, actor Ijoba Lande alleged he spent one month filming with her at Amen Estate and received only N90,000. He later reversed the claim, apologizing and clarifying that his earlier video was taken out of context, stating Funke actually paid him more before he left the set.
A 2023 report also circulated accusing Funke of influencing Mo Abudu to replace Toyin Abraham with Kate Henshaw in Chief Daddy. The same report alleged she attempted something similar with Beverly Osu until Joke Silva intervened.
Meanwhile, Faithia herself had been in the news earlier this year after a tense moment with Mercy Aigbe at an event, where both actresses noticeably ignored each other.
Faithia’s history of disputes also includes her widely publicized fallout with Iyabo Ojo in 2020, after Iyabo accused her of leaking information about a health scare. Iyabo even referred to Faithia as a “witch” during her 51st birthday. However, by January 2022, both actresses reconciled with the assistance of Mr Latin and MC Oluomo and publicly declared affection for each other—though they expressed surprise that they still didn’t follow each other back on Instagram.
With Faithia and Funke now back on good terms, fans hope this renewed friendship sets a fresh tone for Nollywood’s often dramatic relationships.
