Former Big Brother Naija star, Queen Mercy Atang, has broken her silence to address the growing misconceptions surrounding her personal life, marriage, and public image.
In a detailed Instagram post, the reality star expressed frustration over the numerous labels and accusations she has endured since leaving the BBN house. She debunked claims that she uses posts about her husband to spite her baby daddy, questioning where anyone had ever seen her post him.
Queen emphasized that she was simply a joyful bride sharing her marriage moments, not someone trying to create drama.
She also reacted to criticisms about her dancing on TikTok, especially comments suggesting it makes her unfit to be a wife. According to her, dancing is her source of happiness and has nothing to do with her character.
Sharing her experience, Queen wrote:
“USA mommy @glogele.fashion, please don’t be upset. The last time I was in the United States was in 2017/2018, back when I was still a pageant girl. I stayed at my aunt’s house in Houston, @mermer_dolly, for a few weeks before going to Florida for my pageant. I wasn’t even famous then, ma.
So where exactly did your ‘USA people’ see me and decide I was a prostītute?????
I know my family will be upset that I’m responding. I’m sorry, family.

Her statement comes shortly after she confirmed her marriage had ended while responding to a curious fan. Queen declared she is now “single and unavailable.”
Queen Mercy Atang married David Oyekanmi in March 2025. Their introduction ceremony held in Akwa Ibom with colleagues like Nini Singh present. Days later, the couple had their civil wedding at the Federal Marriage Registry in Lagos with family and friends in attendance.
