Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has once again captured public admiration following her heart-warming act of service to children in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The award-winning movie star, who recently celebrated her birthday, chose to mark the special occasion in a truly meaningful way by giving back to society.
Rather than hosting an elaborate private celebration, Nancy Isime spent her birthday at Methodist Primary School, Ikorodu, where she officially commissioned a newly built playground for the pupils. The actress shared moments from the event in a video posted on her social media platforms, drawing praise from fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry.
In the video, Nancy revealed that commissioning playgrounds and libraries has become a personal tradition whenever she celebrates her birthday at schools. According to her, the initiative is deeply rooted in her childhood experiences and love for creativity, play, and learning.
“And so we commissioned another play area in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Now let the fun playtimes begin,” she said.
Explaining her motivation, the actress noted that play and reading were central to her childhood development.
“My favourite part of my birthday parties at schools is when we get to commission a library or play area. As a child, reading and playing were my absolute favourite things to do, and you’d definitely find me in the play area, swinging and sliding my young stress away.”
Nancy Isime also emphasized the importance of reducing children’s screen time and encouraging outdoor activities that stimulate creativity and social interaction.
“I truly believe that it’s essential for children to have less screen time and more time outside, playing and creating.”
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to impact young lives, she added:
“Thankful for the opportunity to be able to add some fun and creativity to the amazing children of Methodist Primary School.”
The actress ended her birthday visit on a lively note, sharing how the excited pupils immediately pulled her to the dance floor for an energetic celebration.
“They literally summoned me to the dance floor immediately after for some serious Kabashing. I just know they’re going to create the best memories there together.”
