Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has released a lengthy and forceful response to the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, after he publicly suggested that she “needs help” due to alleged issues surrounding her marriage. The statement, which she shared on Instagram, has now intensified ongoing conversations about leadership, accountability, and internal politics within the guild.

The controversy began when reports surfaced that Rollas had encouraged fellow actors to speak up about what he described as Daniels’ “unpredictable behavior.” He allegedly referenced two separate incidents involving the actress and even mentioned the names of colleagues who were said to have witnessed the events. His comments quickly spread across social media, sparking speculation and criticism.

In her response, Daniels did not hold back. She accused Rollas of using his official position to pursue personal interests instead of focusing on the wellbeing of the actors he is meant to represent. According to her, his remarks were not only unfounded but also deeply disrespectful to her family—particularly her mother, whom she emphasized has always shown him support.

Daniels hinted that Rollas’ comments may actually be tied to a personal dispute rather than any real concern about her conduct. She alleged that tension arose after she declined his request to bring women to her home for swimming sessions, a situation she said had nothing to do with the movie industry. She noted that her refusal might have triggered resentment that later manifested as public criticism targeted at her and her family.

Addressing him directly, she wrote: “AGN president, respectfully, there is something very wrong with you. To suggest that I need help? You have no right to speak nonsense about my family, especially my mother, who has always supported you. From my early years in this industry, I have watched your leadership, and I can honestly say you have failed. Eight years in office and the only thing of note is the recent opening of your office — long overdue and heavily criticized.”

Continuing her rebuke, she added that Rollas’ comments were fueled by bitterness rather than genuine concern: “Your remarks have nothing to do with Nollywood or the actors you claim to represent. They are rooted in a personal issue, one that began when I refused to let you bring women into my home. I have shown you respect and even offered opportunities, yet you choose to repay me by attacking my family.”

Daniels also used the opportunity to defend her mother’s legacy and contributions to Nollywood. She described her as someone who has dedicated years to the industry and deserves recognition and representation. According to Daniels, the guild desperately needs leaders—especially women—who possess vision, integrity, and a genuine desire to uplift actors rather than tear them down.

Her detailed statement has once again pushed the conversation about AGN leadership practices into the public space. Many within Nollywood are now revisiting long-standing concerns about transparency, internal politics, and the need for reforms that prioritize the welfare of actors.

As reactions continue to pour in, Daniels’ outburst has become more than a personal defense—it has become part of a broader demand for stronger, more accountable leadership within Nigeria’s film industry.
