Rita Daniels, mother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has openly criticized her daughter’s estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, over the alleged arrest of her children.
According to Kemi Filani, Daniels had appealed to the public on Monday night after Ned reportedly detained her daughter’s siblings, allegedly in a bid to pressure Regina into returning to him and a rehabilitation facility.
In a video shared by one of Regina’s brothers, Sweezzy, Rita Daniels accused Nwoko of marrying her daughter for fame. She claimed the senator sought to use Regina’s star power to revive his own fading influence and warned him that he would face consequences if he underestimated her family.
“You wanted someone with a high star to boost your fallen star. If you think you can bite the finger that fed you, you’ll go down. My daughter supported your senatorial election with $10k. We are covering you up and making you feel like an Odogwu, you’re mad,” she said.
The veteran actress highlighted how Regina had supported Nwoko financially during his senatorial campaign and noted that the family had been shielding him while he assumed power.
The revelations come amid Regina Daniels’ ongoing allegations of domestic violence. In a viral clip last week, the actress was seen in tears, claiming that she is not treated as a queen in her husband’s home.
Nwoko, in a public statement, countered the claims, attributing the marital tension to Regina’s “battle with drugs and alcohol abuse.” He also alleged that the actress had been violent at home, reportedly assaulting three domestic staff and damaging property.
Regina’s elder brother, Sweezzy, dismissed Ned’s claims of substance abuse, emphasizing that no couple is perfect. Their younger sister, Destiny Daniels, also shared photos of the actress’ injuries, refuting reports that Regina had reconciled with her husband.
